Does joining the Regiment require any military commitment upon graduation?
There is no military commitment during or after a student’s time at Maine Maritime Academy, unless the student chooses to join a program like NROTC.
How much time do freshmen spend on Regimental duties daily?

Does being a member of the Regiment inhibit studies?
Regimented students are taught time management skills, assisting students to balance regimental duties and academic needs.
Are Regimented students able to actively participate in extra curricular activities?
Roughly 90% of regimental students are actively involved in extra curricular activities, some of which include the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity, the Castine Volunteer Fire Department, Student In Free Enterprise (SIFE) and intramural sports.
Are regimental students to participate in cruise?
Students are required to participate in cruise if they are in an unlimited tonnage licensed major. However, regimental students who do not fall in this category may request through their department chair permission to participate in cruise.
