General Regulations
2006-2007
- Proper courtesies must be rendered to all Regimental Staff Officers and Regimental Rates in an early and enthusiastic manner. Courtesies will be rendered even when in a relaxed uniform and civilian attire.
- The only jackets authorized for wear with the relaxed uniform are the pea coat with no boards, khaki windbreaker, float coat, hooded MTO sweatshirt, approved Blue Major hooded Sweatshirts, V-neck sweater, wooly pulley, freshman issue MMA sweatshirt, letter sweater, and blue maintenance jacket. All other jackets to include civilian jackets, shirts, sweaters, and vests are not authorized for wear with the relaxed uniform.
- Black boots are the only acceptable replacement to the traditional “Bates” leather shoes. Boots are only to be worn when there is snow on the walkways and footing becomes a problem. Boots are not allowed at inspections at any time.
- The Working Blues must be worn properly at all times. The Chambray shirt can only be removed while working on the ship or in another detail when authorized by a 4-bar rate or Academy Officer. All other times the entire uniform must be worn.
- Garrison Covers must be worn on top of the head not pulled down over it.
- The prescribed uniform according to class privileges must be worn to all night classes. If a night class starts when a uniform change occurs the uniform may be worn in route to the class.
